ITS A GIRL!!!

We found out that our once little boy is actually a little girl!!!! And I am sooo excited! It has been so much fun buying and looking at all the cute girl stuff! I can't wait to meet our sweet little girl!

And I must be getting big, I've had a couple of people tell me they thought I was due any day now!!! Who says that to a pregnant girl, really! So I can only guess that in 3 more months I am going to be huge!!!

Okay so anyone who knows me knows that puppys/dogs are the love of my life! I have always been crazy about them! When I was little I would always say I was going to have 100 dogs when I grew up.... too bad that doesn't seem so logically anymore, but still wish I could! So.... On Saturday, I came home and Brandon was there with this sweet little guy. Ever since I cannot get enough of him. He is a Springer Spaniel and is 7 weeks old. He is kind of a little terror but I love him so much he probably gets away with more than he should. I need to be better and start making him have rules! It has been so hard for me to leave him and go to work everyday. I just wish I could be home with him.

I don't have my cord to post pics but as soon as I do I will get some up here to show him off! He is white with liver (brown). He has the cutest little nose with freckles. I can't decide for sure on a name (being the indecisive person I am), but I really am thinking Knuckles Charlie Christensen!! He is such a sweetheart and anyone who wants to come visit let me know!

Big thanks to Brandon for the new addition to our family! So far he fits right in with us and besides being a little terror, he is actually a really good pup. He is doing so good with the potty training only having 2 accidents so far! And sleeping has been going really good also! I am so lucky to have him! Thanks so much Brandon! I love you!

In June I was able to go on a girls trip!!!! My friend Alex and I went to San Diego! It was so much fun and I want to move there now... I think I am destined to live by a beach, ride a bike everywhere I go and have 5 or 6 dogs to walk daily, oh and not to mention run on the beach every morning!

We stayed in La Jolla which is a very very nice area. Unfortunately no one informed us of "June Gloom". Apparently June is the worst month of the year to visit San Diego.... Every day is cloudy and not very warm, if we would have waited one more weekend we would have had perfect California weather. Needless to say on our to the airport to fly home we were looking for a tanning salon to tan with our swimsuits on so we could pretend the weather was sunny!!!

My sister and her boyfriend of 6 years got married! They have been engaged for 2 years now and so I have been patiently waiting. She has had about 15 different ideas of where and when they were going to tie the knot so I am glad it is now official. And I am so happy for them, they make such a wonderful couple and I love them both so much. Colby's sister and I decided to set them up and I am so glad we did, they go together great.

The wedding was on Tuesday October 12th in Boulder, Co. It was so neat to be able to travel with both families and have a get away with the two of them. My sister looked beautiful and the whole trip was so much fun. I love them both and am happy to have them in our family!

I know it has been FOREVER! We don't have internet at home so I never have time to do this blog anymore, so now that I have a min, I'll try and catch everyone up on our very fast changing lives lately... Tons of pictures so hopefully I can get them all on here tonight.

Everyone should know by now but if not I am pregnant!!! We found out baby is a little boy! We are both very excited! I knew from the beginning it was a boy but I still bawled all day when we found out for sure, I had my heart set on a girl. Now that I have thought about it, a boy doesn't sound so bad after all. I grew up with only sisters and have never really been around little boys too much so they seem kinda foreign to me Lol. I just felt more comfortable with a girl for my first one. BUT... I am very excited for how much fun having a little guy around will be. As long as he is healthy thats all we ask.

We also bought our first home! Brandon and I have been moved in since the first of the month and we love it!!! We have a HUGE backyard, which now I can't wait for a dog. Hopefully before the baby gets here if I can talk the hubbs into it.

CAMPING SEASON!!!

Well not really, but we went anyway!!! It was really cold at night but the next day was a perfect day for FiShiNg!!! Bran and I signed up to help out at the Ogden Marathon... well we signed up for the starting line.... which meant.... we had to be there at 4 a.m.! So anybody who knows me knows that that right there is a nightmare waiting to happen!! So I made a deal with the hubbs that I would go if we could camp by the starting line and shave off about a hour of awake time.. So with the intent of being good citizens and helping all the people who are out of their minds to pay to run 26 miles, we dusted off all our camping gear and heading up the mountain Friday night... Well I'm embarrassed to say, WE STILL OVERSLEPT!!! I'm sorry all the motivated runners if being 2 lazy volunteers short messed up your start line!! I hope it wasn't too big of a deal and they had plenty of help up there!

But we still had a lot of fun camping and fishing in the next day! Enjoy the pics!!

Me and a couple of friends went and ran the 5k for the Susan Komen race for the cure. I used to go every year but I missed the past couple years, so it was fun to be back. Its crazy to see how many people come and support this great event. Its also really sad to see how many people are running in memory of a loved one. It was also fun to see some of the people who get all decked out in pink!!

I didn't take any pictures, but I also went to the live green festival after the 5k. It was pretty fun and since I get into the whole natural and "green" stuff, they had some pretty neat boothes. I also tried a vegan brawt with some vegan mayo and a vegan beer!! I didn't know they had so much vegan stuff. The festival was outside at the Salt lake library, where they also had the Anne Frank exhibit, which was pretty neat also!

I found this picture and just loved it. It's so true. Its hard to think this way sometimes when your on the "bump", but it is something I am going to try to remember for the future. Our journey in life is full of bumps and sometimes its hard to see what will be on the other side of the bump, but after going through struggles you always look back and can say you learned something or it made you a stronger/better person. And I do believe it happened for a reason whether you know the reason or not, there was a purpose.

Brandon is so much fun. He is always up to something different, I love it! I came home early and unexpectedly from work the other night to Bran making his own noodles for spaghetti. He did pretty good for not having any of the cutting tools. They turned out a little bigger than expected (hence no cutting tools) but tasted great! My husband is the more creative one out of the two of us. If only I could have a little bit of his creativity! Love ya Bran!

So no matter what is going on in my life or what kind of mood I am in, Jake always makes me smile and happy! He is the sweetest little guy. I have never seen him any other mood but happy. Even when Chewy is growling at him, Jake is just smiley and wagging his tail, he seriously is just happy to be alive. (now too bad people can't live like that, the world would be a better place.)

On Saturday I went to the memorial service they had for Koda the K-9. He got shot by a gang member/thief/worthless piece of crap on January 1st. It is so sad to think that someone could harm animals. Especially a dog trained to protect the community. Koda was only 3 years old. The service was awesome. It kinda made me laugh that the whole time during the service you could hear all the other dogs barking from the vehicles outside. There are a lot of people saying negative things about having a service for "just a dog". Obviously they don't understand what these dogs do and have no understanding of truly what a hero he was. He saved his handlers life and who knows how many others from getting hurt or killed. It was neat to go and give some support to all the officers and their K-9 furry friends! This is soo exciting for me! Brandon's mom and dad got us this duvet cover and shams that I have been wanting FOREVER! I have been looking for the past little while and found a TON that I want, but they are so so so expensive! For just a *cover*!!!! The comforter that goes in them is cheaper I swear! So I found this lovely one for a pretty good price and have been eyeing it ever since I found it. We are very thankful they got this for us, now our bedroom looks a ton better and I finally can use my pillows I've had hidden in the closet for the past year!

The husband and I went to a movie last night. It has been a long time since we have been to a movie, I think the last time was on my birthday in April!! So anyways, Brandon let me choose the movie so I was stoked! I decided on "All about Steve" since I really like Sandra Bullock. So anyways, we go to the movie (which was okay) and we got a large diet coke so needless to say I had to run to the bathroom when the movie got over....

So I go into the bathroom and pick my stall... (I am a germ phobe so I go to the very end of the line of stalls thinking that most people are prob too lazy to walk that far so they should be the cleanest?!) -wishful thinking I guess! Anyway, I do my thing and go to open the stall and *NOTHING*, the door won't open!!! So I play around with the lock and turn it back and forth and the door is completely stuck, won't budge at all! So in my head I'm thinking what do I do...

A- Call my husband and have him come try the door (k, that would just be embarrassing for us both)
B- Wait for someone to come in the bathroom (still embarrassing and who knows how long I'll be waiting and if they could even help me.)
C- Crawl under the door (that would just be gross-germ thing)
or
D-Climb over the stall..... so this is what I do! So here I am in my heels, trying to keep my purse with me without spilling my stuff everywhere, standing on the toilet climbing over the stall. Luckily since I was so far down the line of stalls there was a handicapped rail on the stall next to me so I used that as a step stool!

Next time I'll use a closer stall.

So I brush myself off and wash my hands and meet up with the hubby. We are walking out of the movies and I am debating in my head if I should tell him what just happened so I figure why not, he already knows this kind of stuff happens to me ALL THE TIME. So he just cracks up and asks....

Bran- Are you sure you weren't just supposed to pull the door open instead of push?
me- shit. I dunno. I think I did both..... I'm not that dumb am I?....
Bran- (laughing hysterically)

They are to die for and I am not even a shoe girl, I normally am good with flip-flops. I hate shopping for shoes and there are not many I like, but these are my new love (sorry Brandon)! Now I need a cute ruffle dress from BEBE for Vegas trip!

A couple weeks ago was the big 1 year for us!!! It has gone by super fast and has been lots of fun. I love knowing that everyday I get to be with Brandon and get to make new memories with him everyday. We have soo much fun together.

As appetizing as eating year old cake sounds, we couldn't break the tradition, so we got the cake out the freezer and unthawed. My mom had vacuum packed the cake in plastic so the top of the cake had sunk in from the missing air. We tried to eat the cake, but it didn't taste right (go figure!). Soooo..... Bran and I had a cake fight! It was so fun! He was so sweet and nice and didn't shove cake in my face at the wedding so I figured why not! Enjoy the pics!

To the dude on Friday morning in Layton whose couch part I ran over.... Its not my fault you took the corner too fast or too sharp, and its not my fault you didn't properly have your ugly couch tied down to the trailer you were pulling. So if your ugly green couch is so precious to you that you have to throw a fit when I didn't see it and ran it over, maybe you learned your lesson. Normally I would have felt bad, but when you are stopping traffic to yell at me, it just pissed me off (I was ready to fight). First of all, there were cars in the opposite direction and I wasn't going to get hit by oncoming cars to save your couch. Second of all the right hand turn you and I had just made was on a slight hill and in my big truck, I can't see much of the road right in front of me. I should have been the one who was mad, your dumb ass couch could have damaged my truck!!!

I just don't understand why people can't be nice. Why do you need to take your un-happiness out on other people. It just ruins every ones day. I get yelled at enough at the salon by miserable people, the world doesn't need anymore jerks in it! But there are some nice people out there, when I got to work that morning after the couch incident, a client at the salon told me I was the nicest person she had talked to on the phone. It was nice to get a compliment like that, normally you just hear all the bad things. That really made my day turn around.

Craft Lake City!

Ever heard of it? I hadn't either, because this was the 1st annual. It was on Saturday at the Galavian (spelling?) center. And I can't wait til next year, it was awesome! It was so cool! Tons of handmade specialties. I just go and wish that God could have given me a ounce of creativity! There was tons of people there, live bands, food and beer and lots of really cool handmade jewelry, art, sculptures, anything you could think of. I got a really cute headband and a necklace... can't wait for next year!

So... One of my goals this year was to read 1 book every month, I know to a lot of you that prob is a very easy and attainable thing to do, but for me not so much. Since reading is a newer thing for me, I still have a hard time concentrating on sitting there, by myself in complete silence and paying attention to the words going through to my brain.... I can never turn my brain off.

My husband thinks its amazing that we can be sitting there watching tv and he makes a comment about what is on and I say "what? what about that horse, I never saw a horse". I just stare at the tv and don't have any clue as to what my eyes are seeing cuz my thoughts are going a million miles a hour! I also do this when I try to sleep, which really sucks, since I am usually exhausted but my mind won't stop! (any suggestions to helping me let me know) I usually lay in bed (very tired) til about 1 a.m. (we go to bed about 10) and finally my thoughts drift into dream. (weird dreams too) No wonder why my 7th grade math teacher called me La La Land, she would never say Elissa, she would just call on me with my hand in the air "yes la la land?" (very embarrassing).

Anyways, back to the books. For the first 5 months of the year I did great. Thats because I had a cell phone and would make a list (I'm a obsessive about lists) each time I read a book for the month. Then I lost my phone (and my life of lists, lists of life) and now I am a slacker in a few areas of my life without my lists.... Books being one of them. So.... the point of this whole, long, dreadful rant is.... here is my lists of books for the year, before I forget them and to get me re-focused and back on this goal...

So I saw this a while ago and was

aMaZeD at how awesome animals can be! Dolphins have always been in my top five favorite animals ever!!!! In case you didn't hear the story, it was about a suspected somali pirate ship that was trying to overtake a chinese merchant ship when thousands of dolphins appeared and apparently scared off the pirates!!!! Animals really are smarter than people give them credit for!

This post was inspired by my husband. Brandon and I went up to Park City on Saturday night in celebration of his birthday. Which by the way, park city was like a ghost town for a Saturday night, I'm assuming thanks to the swine flu cases that have been confirmed there?! It was kinda nice not to have to deal with a ton of people, but it was kinda creepy in a way and I kept feeling like maybe we shouldn't have been up there. But ANYWAYS, we went to ZOOM. The food and atmosphere was awesome, but the service was slow. If you have never been there, the building is really cool, it was built in the late 1800's and cost $5,000.00 to build, crazy to believe though! So anyways, Brandon and I got talking about one day builing our home and have it be a big open loft type house with the kitchen, dining, family room and bathroom with a couple rooms upstairs. Would be pretty cool, so here are a few pics.... I think my husband would love the above pic.

So..... the month of April have been eventful! I love this month and this time of year, gets me excited for summer! I can't wait! Let's start with April 1st, I wish I could tell you all about the wonderful tricks I played on my husband, but for some weird reason I forgot about it untill a couple days after!!!! I'm so upset I forgot, I have been asking Brandon if we can say April fool's day is another day so I can play my tricks (I dont want to wait a whole nother year!!!)......of course he said no!

Then was my birthday! Brandon got my whole family together and met up at Little America for the breakfast buffet (the best breakfast ever). Brandon and I then went and saw Monsters vs. Aliens 3d version, which was pretty neat and that night we had a fabulous evening at Melting Pot for dinner! Yum! He knows I'm a sucker for good food! Then he had all the family over one night for dessert, thanks to everyone who came, it was fun and I appreciate you all!

Easter was pretty chill. We colored eggs at my sisters house the night before. Bran and I watched the masters Easter morning, exchanged Easter baskets and I hid eggs around the house with candy and money in them.... He found all but a couple I had to play the hot/cold game with him... the one in the toliet lid I don't think he would have ever found! I got a bunch of yummy candy in my basket which is pretty much gone already!

And last Tuesday I went to Britney Spears concert! It was pretty fun, fun to just get dressed up and go out with the girls, but honestly I was not impressed with Britney. She did not talk to the audience once, did not dance much and lip sang the WHOLE show. At times her mouth wasn't even moving! We had AWESOME seats and could see everything perfectly. Her show was cool with all the dancers and acrobats jumping around the stage like a circus! They did some cool magic tricks and stuff! FUN FUN! Glad I got to go, but probaly won't be doing that again, save the money for better concerts!

That has pretty much been our life the past few weeks! Next comes Brandons birthday and one of my best friends coming to visit with her new baby!!!! Exciting! Oh and let the house hunting begin!!!! (uggh and aah)

Yay! okay, so in case you didn't know, Valentines Day is my favorite holiday! I get so excited for it every year. I love everything about it! I love the colors, I love suprises, I love all the cinnamon candy(all time favorite!), I love LOVE, I love hearts and I love doing things for someone to make them happy!

So we had a FABULOUS day and my husband is so cute and sweet to me, I just love him! I cooked breakfast for Brandon before I had to work in the morning, since Valentines day is our busiest day at the spa..... Brandon brought me chocolate covered strawberries to work! I got home and he had made me the cutest posters hanging in the living room!!!!! (ISN'T HE SOO CUTE!) Then we went to dinner at Corbins, came home and Brandon had bought us oil paints and canvases! He is the best! It will be a day I definately won't forget! Here are a few pictures of our paintings!

YAY!! Okay, so a lot of you probably haven't been to Brandon and I's place..... There is a reason for that...... we have no where to have anyone sit! We have been living with 2 beach chairs in our living room.. well, no more of that! We FINALLY found a couch! After months of looking, purchasing one only to return it, and many days of Brandon telling me how the bar of the chair hurt his butt.... we finally have a nice, big, comfy couch and chair!

So Brandon went to the Utah game on Saturday and I was bored, so what did I do? SHOPPING! I got our Christmas decorations for a tree!!! I am so excited, I told Brandon that as soon as they start selling trees we are going to go get ours..... I decided we would do a red, brown and champange color theme! I'm excited! We still need lights, garland and a tree skirt. I found the perfect tree skirt but couldn't justify spending $60 dollars on a skirt for a tree, that could be a pair of new jeans!

Tuesdays!!!! It's my day off!
Animals, I can just sit and watch them, a bird out the window, driving by some horses or sheep, any learning program on t.v. about animals and the best of all any dogs, anywhere!

I know I am slow at this, but its because Brandon and I don't have internet at home so, I can only work on this at work and well, really I'm not suppose to do that either.... but when I am sitting here in my cubicle watching the grass grow or rather the carpet get dirty, I give in to temptation! So really one day when I can get a set up like Carrie on Sex and the city, then you'll hear more from me! Until then, you'll have to deal with once a month posts from events that happened 6 months ago!

So.... the honeymoon was Huntington Beach California.... Brandon and I both LOVE the lifestyle of Californians.... Everytime we go, we say to each other, we should move here! Although we both know neither one of us would be able to give up our jobs and leave our families, so we will continue to daydream and hopefully still be able to travel! So we were able to get a condo on Sunset beach which was literally a stroll across a little street and we were on the beach! We were right on PCH (Pacific Coast Highway aka Highway 101). We became very familiar with the highway and could just jump on to go to Huntington, Long beach, Newport beach, Balboa Island.... pretty much anywhere! Once we figured that out, we turned off the stupid gps system which kept making us go on 5 different freeways and all the way across town to get somewhere we could get to by just jumping on the PCH.... oh and I forgot to mention, this was all cruising in our nice, luxurious Versa!!!!

Anyways...... while we were there, we got to go to a Angels game!!!! Which was AWESOME! Its one of my goals in life to go to one game at every stadium in the country.... I'm 3 down and like 35 more to go!!!! We took a boat to Catalina Island which was the same feel of Park City only on water and everyone uses golf carts to travel. We went to Hollywood BLVD which people failed to mention that this isn't as glamorous as you think.... It was kinda really ghetto! We should have skipped that and went straight to Rodeo dr, maybe next time.... We went to a cool aquarium, with fish bigger than us and Brandon loved being able to grab the sting rays in the water, it was really fun! And tons of shopping (well window shopping anyways). Best of all tho, no wedding planning and no work for a whole week!!!!!

The wedding was on August 23rd, everything turned out perfect! It was great weather and a very pretty day. I was so proud of myself, I got through the whole ceremony without crying!!!! We had the ceremony outdoors and it was perfect. My colors were all shades of pink with black and white polka dots! The boys looked great in their tuxes and pink ties and none of them even complained, well except for Brandon! I had 6 bridesmaids my two sisters Jacki and Rachelle, Brandon's two sisters Stacy and Christa and my two good friends Amanda and Lindsay. My flowers were gerber daiseys and roses. I made my centerpieces and had 2 square cakes and cupcakes. The day was perfect and I wouldn't change a thing other than maybe it lasting longer!!
